FLY FOR STEM AFRICA CAMPAIGN” What an awesome day at Bethlehem Airfield. A big thank you to our host and sponsor Paramount aviation (http://www.flyparamount.co.za/). We started the day by introducing learners to basic aerodynamics, showed them different controls of aeroplanes and helicopters, a presentation about emerging technologies in aviation, a presentation about drones and paper planes competition. Some learners had an opportunity to go on to their intro flights Their task for the day was to research about drones and practical applications in their communities!!! A big thank you to Aeronautical Society of South Africa (AeSSA) for providing different design paper planes. It is awesome to see our former campers coming back to volunteer for the organisation. We are excited to have our 2016 aviation and space camper Savanna Boltman volunteering to manage the 2018 Aviation and space camp. Savanna will also be joining the dynamic GFPA foundation Africa team as an executive under the guidance and mentorship of executive director W&A Refilwe Ledwaba.Savanna is currently completing her Private Pilot License and studying towards an Aviation business management degree at a USA based University.Welcome to the GFPA team.
