These pre workout smoothies were life!! Collard green, kale, coconut meat, pear, bananas, and water. So deceptively good! I topped them with cocoa nibs, hemp seeds, and chia seeds. . . . Eating plants, closest to their raw form, just feels amazing! After being on my chickpea flour chocolate chip pancake kick and black bean brownie kick i realized I have been ingesting way more concentrated sugar than usual and my body is screaming for me to stop. Eczema patches that I havent had in years are coming back on my arms (this freaks me out the most, swipe!), and I can't release these 10 pounds attached themselves to me seemingly overnight! . . So I have finally decided to get back to basics. Whole Food Plant Based eating is ideal for me in every way. I am going back to no oil because it is concentrated fat and I prefer to eat fats in the way nature intended, with the rest of the food. So instead of coconut oil, I will eat coconut which comes with the right amounts of oil, water, fiber, and nutrients for our bodies to easily recognize. Instead of olive oil I would eat olives...if they weren't disgusting, but they are....so I will just not have olives in any form. Instead of date sugar I will eat dates, which comes with the right amounts of water, fiber, etc that nature intended for us to digest. . . . When I first went vegan it was so much easier to be great! Due to naivety I didn't know that oreos were vegan and due to it being over 5 years ago I wasn't bombarded with vegan ice creams, impossible burgers, vegan cheeses, etc...I was also allergic to nuts so I unintentionally had a lower fat diet. . . . So I'm going back to 2013 - 2015. Back to basics. Rose Hip and Hibiscus Herbal Tea This herbal tea full of antioxidants and vitamin C is the easiest thing to make. It's especially benefical in the winters to sip on as a hot tea to boost your immunity and to have in the summers as a cool refreshing cold drink when poured over ice. Made this tea by boiling a cup of water and then adding half a teaspoon dried rose hips and two fresh hibiscus flowers to it and letting it steep for 3 to 4 minutes. Add lemon and honey/brown sugar for taste. . Rosehip which is the seed pod of a wild rose plant has been commonly used to treat indigestion, arthritis, colds and the flu. Hibiscus, a red-flowered shrub, is commonly used in herbal teas because of its pleasant taste. Medicinally, hibiscus has been used to treat upset stomach, anxiety and fevers.  Both herbs contain high levels of flavonoids and other antioxidants, and rosehips are an excellent source of vitamin C. A tea made from rosehips and hibiscus helps lower your blood pressure, support your immune system and used as a nutritional support for patients undergoing cancer treatments.
