HOLY‼️My legs are sore from these basic movements? HOW? Here is a tip: Focus your mind to the muscle. As I was extending my legs in the first exercise I would occasionally close my eyes and feel the extension and then retract my legs. The connection of this simple movement had my hammies burning. I did pause squats because I am working on form & mastering the technique before increasing weight. I put the safety bars higher to rest then reset. I believe this 👆🏼100%, which is why I take a bit of time for my health every day. ❤️ Being a mom to 3 little kids is no easy feat (think beautiful CHAOS 😆), and because it is awesomely tough, I need all the help I can get. After having a baby, I do basically nada for 2 weeks, and then, if I feel good, I take walks & do light activity again. This time around my recovery has been super quick, but still gave myself 2 weeks to totally chillax. I began working out again in the 3rd week - light activity (walks & BODYFLOW at home via LesMillsOnDemand.com), and now in the 4th week have hit up some @LesmillsGRIT Cardio & weights so far. I feel awesome to be working out again, & am excited to be back in the game. 💪🏼 . Remember, a postpartum fitness journey looks different on everyone, but the mental aspect of it can be the difference between success & frustration. View at it as a fun, new challenge; embrace the whole thing-the ups, downs, & the fight for a stronger version of yourself. Love your yourself & body (hello! Seriously you guys- if you don’t already follow her GO DO IT NOW! • “Raise your hand if healthy eating has ever felt like a chore. 🙋 I'm sure I'm not alone in this. When we try restrictive plan after plan, it starts to feel like we're at war with food...and we ALWAYS lose. • We "eat clean" for a while and we're "good," but inevitably we "fall off the wagon" (I'm using quotes because I've heard these exact words about a trillion times 😂). • But guess what - that's not because you're wrong or weak or lacking willpower. It's because you're setting up a situation where it's you against the food, and that's not how it's supposed to be! • Eating well shouldn't be a punishment for a lack of discipline. It shouldn't be something you do because you've been "bad" or lost control. It shouldn't be boring or restrictive or depressing. • Eating well is an act of LOVE for your body. And practicing making wise food choices (from a place of love, not out of fear of gaining weight) is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself. • It doesn't always feel that way because we've all been marinating in diet culture that teaches us we have to shrink and take up less space and look a certain way to be valuable. • But I'm here to tell you that you, exactly as you are today, are JUST RIGHT. Once you start feeling more respect for yourself as you are NOW, without demanding that you change first in order to earn your own respect...THEN you'll see the magic happen. • Love is the most powerful force, even when it comes to food! So chill out, put down your weapons against yourself (aka your scale), take a deep breath, and let your body tell you what would feel good to eat. • Chances are that once you relax and start feeling more calm, that food won't be such a battle anymore.
