Rachel Suitor, a @UBuffalo student, is the @NASAArmstrong intern of the month for February 2018! Rachel is working on Airvolt Cruise Motor Endurance Testing for the SCEPTOR (Scalable Convergent Electric Propulsion Technologies Operations Research) X-57 Maxwell plane. 💫
Interesting idea for a student art project. #steam #maker
Our first #GirlsIncBoldFutures event is in the books! In addition to watching the game, the girls were able to be #CourtsideKids and greet the @trailblazers onto the court at last night’s game against the @warriors! We had a ton of fun together — especially since the game ended in a W! 💪🏽 • Bold Futures is a mentorship program organized by @girlsincpnw. Girls are placed in groups and assigned a mentor that they will have until August. Mentees will experience a large variety of events with their mentors, such as sporting events, concerts, and so much more! Through these events and under the guidance of a mentor, we hope mentees are able to see how strong, smart, and bold they are. ❤️
Many NASA interns remember discovering their dream. For Kelly at @nasajohnson, it was when she first laid eyes on Space Shuttle Endeavor that she became relentless in her pursuit of a STEM career. 🚀 Be inspired by her journey in our new blog! 💫

Today students were engineers they had the opportunity to design a raft using only conversation hearts and tape. They also used their math skills to decode a note that had to be carried by the raft. I love this lesson because it incorporates every subject in STEM, coding, computer science , design, teamwork. 💕 The students loved it. #secondgrade @primaryparadise
Students learned about the scientific method and hypothesized what would happen to conversation hearts and chocolate (M&M’s) 🍫 if placed in either cold or hot water. Such a fantastic quick Valentines STEM activity by @primaryparadise the students were very engaged. #2ndgrade

Rocket fuel is heavy, so we're studying how we can create it on Mars rather than carry it with us. 🚀 Katie, a student at and spring 2018 intern at @nasakennedy, is working to support that project. "My projects focus on using resources found on Mars and also waste we generate to reduce the amount of resources we bring from Earth," she said. Do you want to do real work to support NASA's missions? Apply today for a summer 2018 NASA internship at! 💫 #NASAintern
Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. These woman are incredible there have been many groundbreaking discoveries. I feel lucky to be in the position to encourage and inspire young girls to take an interest in STEM fields and to really have a better understanding of the world around them. To teach them to never be afraid to ask questions and that failure only makes you stronger. #womeninstem #womeninscience #internationaldayofwomenandgirlsinscience #science #scienceteacher #scienceclass #sciencegirls #STEM
It’s #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience! Grateful that the United Nations General Assembly recognizes the pressing need to address the gender discrepancy in science globally and that so many organizations around the world are working to ensure women and girls in STEM feel encouraged, supported, and celebrated. 🙏🏽 -Shiv
