If your like me you probably got into lifting for a couple different reasons. Some of those reasons may be to look good to impress girl(guy), athletics, and/or to just be shredded. .. I personally started for the sole purpose of having big arms. Growing up through high school, I was a scrawny little pip squick(nothings really changed... 😑). So, I wanted a sick pair of guns to show off. .. However, I wasn’t born with the most aesthetic pleasing genetics so, for me to have big arms, I would have to put in the work. .. ✅ With that being said what’s a way I could develop some decent arm size? .. First, you should know the bicep is made up of two major muscles, the brachialis(lower part of upper arm) and brachioradialis(upper arm/forearm). And to develop a well rounded set of biceps you’ll want to work both of these major muscles. .. ✅ What’s a good exercise to work these different parts of the bicep? .. The Bicep Curl + Hammer Curl: .. These exercises are probably two of the most popular bicep movements. .. The DB Hammer Curl, which is done with a neutral grip(palms facing in). The Hammer Curl helps build both of these muscles in a way that other curl variations do not, by allowing you to add additional strength, size, and grip strength to your arms. .. The DB Bicep Curl which is done with a supinated grip(palms up). This variation does a phenomenal job of building the “peak” of the bicep. .. So, one of my favorite ways to train my biceps is by combining these two movements together. .. ✅ Now, before doing these you’ll also want to keep in mind that training your biceps is just like training any other muscle in the body. To grow them you’ll want to focus on exercise form, mind muscle connection, weight control, and progressive overload. .. Hope this helps. .. The body likes to adapt quick so variation of exercises can help the trend of continuous growth and alleviate boredom. ➖ Here's a variation of the Ab wheel rollout exercise but using a ball for increase difficulty and targets the forearms. Same rules apply like as you were using the ab wheel. With arms straight, roll the ball as far as possible. Lower body gently to floor extending arms forward. Raise body back up by flexing hips and pulling arms back to original position. Return until hips are extended. Repeat.
