You know what?! Change your mindset and it will freakin change your life. I have been working a lot on my mindset lately and I can tell you that it has changed the way I see things. I'm not talking about, yes I have gotten a little bit more positive - I'm talking about that; "I know what I want and I'm gonna freakin make it happen" kind of change. I've been getting a lot clearer about my vision and the direction I want to take in life and I'm scared, but excited at the same time. Don't downgrade your dream because of what other people tell you that you should do. One of the keys to weight loss success, in my opinion, is what you do when no one is watching - This was the scene for me nearly every morning in 2017 and continues to be the scene every day in 2018: It’s dark, everyone in my house is asleep 😴, I’m tired, sipping on my preworkout cocktail, which these days is Project 1 🍇 + OptiGreens 🍃 (which is awesome despite looking like 🤮), and writing out my workout for that morning. From there it is out to the gym. Day in, Day out. - There are plenty of days where I am tired as hell and don’t feel like going to workout. I could shut that 4:30am alarm off and go back to sleep. Who is going to know? No big deal, right? - Same with diet. When no one is watching, do you sneak a 🍪? An extra serving of whatever? No one will know. It can’t hurt, right? - Wrong. All those little corner cuts add up. Also, you gain a ton of positive momentum by consistently sticking to the plan, when no one is watching, when you aren’t posting a gym selfie or a food pic and getting likes or positive reinforcement. When no one else will know except you if you stayed on track or not. When it’s just the unsexy work of eating right and finding the time to work out. Making it a priority. Doing that day in, day out. Every day. That is the key to success that sticks....to making a true LIFE CHANGE. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good gym selfie. I post plenty of them. But the vast majority of days, I am just putting in the work, by myself. Left foot, right foot - Losing weight is hard. It takes a long time. It takes a lot of work. Especially in the beginning....“The work comes before the belief”...I can promise you this: Do the diet and exercise work, consistently, every day and you will get momentum, and you will see results, and it will get easier, and eventually you will fall in love with it and it can become your passion...and then it becomes a lot of fun. What's the difference between motivation and discipline? Motivation is lost, while discipline is practiced. - Some days are harder than others to work up the motivation to go train. It's human nature to not be able to (easily) inflict pain on ourselves. But it's all a mental game, really! What I've come to realize is that it's less about motivation, and more about discipline. It's doing what you know needs to be done today, to get where you want to be tomorrow ... even when it's hard, exhausting and painful. - On a different note, I don’t usually post videos of my workouts for a few different reasons. 1) it’s difficult and downright awkward to figure out appropriate angles that still showcase the movement. 2) In no way, shape or form do I look cute (or even decent for that matter) while I’m working out!!! 3) I have to video the movements after my workout is complete, resuting in pretty rickity form! Otherwise, I get distracted and end up losing the momentum in my workout. In turn, my training session suffers! Now, that being said, I have decided to start posting more of my workouts. Whenever I feel that I’m unmotivated or dreading my workout, I turn to social media and find multiple daily workouts posted. It gets something stirring inside me. I start to think, “I am strong, I am healthy, I am able. I have no reason, nor do I desire one, to not get up and get moving. And I do in fact have multiple reasons to get going!!! If they can find the discipline to get it done, so can I!” Point is, social media is a great tool for finding and serving motivation. And I want to be a part of both! Even if my videos can help just one person, it’d make it all worth it! - Also, I promise to improve my video skills!!! - As mentioned earlier, these clips are after my workout and a bit rough around the edges, so please go easy on me! Workout is as follows: Superset #1: 4 x 10 goblet squats 15 side cable kicks 4 x 10 weighted glute bridges Superset #2: 3 x 10 straight leg dead lifts 10 step up + leg raise Superset #3: 3 x 12 weighted single leg glute bridge 15 frog thrusts 4 x 10-12 drop set leg extensions BURNOUT: 25 leg lift cross overs (each leg) - I’m going to bed now! #duespaid

Road to the NPC Midwest Championship update: . I have a little over 5 weeks left and I’ve already told myself I was going to just drop out at least 6 times . I’ve noticed that as I get closer to the end of my preps my body starts to really give me hell. My pain levels are at an all time high. I’m limping more than ever and I get tired a lot quicker . Because of all this I started taking new pain meds before every session. I noticed the pills make me drowsy feeling afterwards but at this point I need the relief . I had my annual #hemophilia review at SLU hospital this week and they said my ankle is the same as last year but my left elbow has gotten significantly worse. Mostly because of the heavy weight that I’m lifting . This is a crazy draining process but my gut feeling is that I’m supposed to fight through this adversity for as long as I can. I keep failing on my diet bc it helps when I’m in pain to eat comfort food . The only thing I have at this point is that I tell myself I’m the king at getting back up again 🙌🏼 . I can’t stop! I won’t stop! . Let’s see what happens guys! 5 weeks out 💪🏻💉

I was invited to a cycle class by @oxygenstudio_pb and I talk about the experience I had in my story but I decided to share it here as well! I have never done anything like this before. It was a cycle class where they incorporated weights, great energy & a spiritual movement. The reason it was so much more than a cycle class to me was because @bamichou, the instructor, talked about how it is up to us to create anything that we want in that moment and in life. & How it wasn't about the workout but more of a mental challenge to surpass more than we think we can endure. That is up to us to manifest what we truly want to focus on. That resonates with me so much in my life right now and I am so grateful that I made the decision to come. I honestly wasn't even going to come until I had a passenger today who was on her way to teach a cycle class and expressed her passion behind it. As I mentioned to her that I was invited but wasn't sure, she encouraged me to try it and so I said what the heck, why not. I swear every passenger I have been getting these past days have either added value to my life by something they have said or vice versa. This day couldn't have gone any better especially after also listening to @andyfrisella's latest podcast. It has really given me hope in the things that I am doing. I encourage you guys to give The MFCEO a listen, it has been a complete game changer for me and I would love for you guys to get some value out of it as well. I am so grateful for today and the people that have crossed my path. @oxygenstudio_pb was also very thoughtful to have given us all a Jamba Juice after the cycle class. 💚 Can't wait to come back and experience another class.
