Little groin pain for the past week so not able to squat heavy at all. Had to stick to machine but I gave light squats a go after I felt warm enough. Here is 40kg for 15 reps. "Happy New Year and welcome to 2018!" - Is it too late to say that now? Well.. I haven't been posting much on Instagram lately, not that you would care really, but I haven't.. But I said to myself late in 2017, that 2018 should be my best year of training. Not only gains wise, but also getting new knowledge! And with that comes: Posting more on Instagram and growing my social media 📸- And what better way of starting 2018, than posting some pictures of some squats? So.. As of recently, I've started doing this stupid thing of supersetting Frontsquats with Backsquats! 🤢 As you are stronger in the Backsquat, due to the fact that you are using a lot more glutes (as the m. Gluteus Maximus' primary function is to do a extension at the hip *and you are tilted more forward when doing the Backsquat than a Frontsquat, which forces the glutes to fire easilier*), you'll be able to do more reps with that weight on the Backsquat, than the Frontsquat! 🔥 Well! Enough anatomy for now.. But in this case I did 10 reps on the Frontsquat, and then immediately after I re-racked and started doing 10 reps on Backsquats! Talking about a burn in your quads and your heart feels like it wants to burst out of your chest! 🔥👊🏿 But if I want as BIG quads as @Danielrisgaard and @Legs_like_stroem I need to keep squatting! 😈 Do 3 sets of 10+10 reps of this superset and I promise you that your quads will be pumped up!💢🆙 And sorry for the short shorts.. But they seem to be getting shorter and shorter the more squats I do 😬 - That's enough from me now.. 💥FEMALE vs MALE EXERCISES💥 - 🦄Hehe hi☺️ Just landed in Vegas for a quick biz trip. Coffee, black, and about to get a lift in. Which brings us to an important topic. - ☕️There is NO SUCH THING as a "female" or "male" exercise. It does not exist. There isn't a single exercise men can do that women shouldn't. And there isn't a single exercise women should do that men shouldn't. - 🦄Wanna pick some heavy weights up? Deadlift it! Woman or man, doesn't matter. I have male clients who deadlift well into the 700's and female clients who deadlift well into the 300's. - ☕️Wanna crank out chin-ups? Do it! Start with a variation that you can do with perfect form and progress your way to as advanced as you can go. I have female and male clients banging out weighted chin-ups like it's their job. - 🦄Moral of the story? Anyone who tells you not to do X exercise or Y workout because you're the "wrong" gender is a Malfoy. Nod, smile, then keep doing what works for YOU. Because Malfoy is a slimeball, anyway, and I really wish Ron’s “eat slugs” spell didn’t backfire. - Another gem from @syattfitness!

Luckily, there is some very conclusive evidence on a lot of these products, which I'll discuss now🔥 . 🐄Whey is by no means necessary, but is safe & a handy supplement if you are struggling to eat sufficient protein and of course supports the growth of muscle (Miller et al., 2014). BCAAs offer no benefits, once adequate protein levels are reached (Aragon, 2017, Aguiar et al., 2017). Caffeine has been shown to have thermogenic properties (Greenway et al., 2004) and also be an effective ergogenic aid (Timmins et al., 2014). Caffeine is the main ingredient in most fat burners and so drinking coffee or taking caffeine pills will have the same effect in most cases. Other ingredients, including Green Tea extract & CLA seem to have no real benefits (Baledia et al., 2014, Brandsch et al., 2002)😅 . 🚴Next up is Beta-Alanine, which has a positive effect on muscular endurance, especially in activities lasting 60+ seconds (Hobson et al., 2012). Glutamine, on the other hand, is often touted as a potent muscle builder. The evidence seems to suggest once you are not deficient in glutamine (in a severely catabolic state) there is no need to supplement with it (Candow et al., 2001)🤙 . 🏋🏻Finally, we have creatine and test boosters, two of the most popular supplements in the fitness industry. I have a full post on creatine on my page, but to sum it up, creatine is an effective & safe performance ergogenic supplement (Arciero et al., 2001, Kreider et al., 2003).
